 o-wool classic 2-ply

...a delightful organic merino yarn

you can make one using

 last week's baby beret pattern...

just insert eyelets on the second-to-last row of ribbing

...k2tog, yo, p2 all the way around...

 thread i-cord through the holes

et voilà!!!

this version would suit a girl or boy and is easy to pull on and off because the i-cord is quite stretchy...
