cotton with wool...

a new yarn has arrived at my favorite yarn store...

Geilsk
 bomuld (cotton) og (and) uld (wool)

had to give it a try...



though I am making a hat as a sample,
I do think a sweater is in order!





this yarn seems to be ideal 
for our coastal summers...
a lovely, light cotton fingering
tempered and warmed by the 
magic that is 
wool

done...



the avonlea shawl from lit knits is finished and ready for the post...

not my best work, but definitely a lovely pattern
by a talented young designer...

 let's hope that it brings some warmth and comfort 
to a grieving friend...

almost done...

it has taken longer than anticipated...

...not because it is difficult, mind you.  
the pattern is well-written and easy-to-follow...

no, it's me...
too much on my plate and too unfocused for even the simplest lace...


...however, after two weeks, the avonlea shawl is almost done!  just need to bind off, and then I will get to blocking...
